As stated by Buggles in 1979, Video Killed the Radio Star – transport yourself to 2014 and it seems video has killed text content.
What would you prefer to see, a block of text explaining exactly what a business or service is? Or would you prefer to see a video showing you? Let’s face it, no one wants to sit going square eyed reading through streams of text with the odd photo chucked in for good measure, we want sound and colour and movement on our websites!
This is why we’re M.A.D about video this week.
Let’s get all technical with some statistics to further convince you to come and join us and embrace the video side of life. According to BillionaireGraphics.com “Graphics expedite and increase our level of communication. They increase comprehension, recollection, and retention. Visual clues help us decode text and attract attention to information or direct attention increasing the likelihood that the audience will remember.”
They also state that, “90% of information transmitted to the brain is visual, and visuals are processed 60,000X faster in the brain than text.”
Yes, like everyone we are prone to watching silly YouTube clips (our favourite at the moment is the little boy debating with his mum Linda as to why cupcakes for dinner is a good idea). But from a business perspective, instead of producing a written report on your website detailing stats and figures showing the success of your company, why not have a simple minute video presenting these figures with sound, colour and animations?
Oh and while you’re at it, why not check out our new video here…We were never going to make you sit and read when you can watch instead…
